Penn State overcame a 12-point deficit in the middle stages of the opening quarter to own a 30-27 advantage at the half. And after the teams were tied entering the final quarter, Penn State outscored Ohio State 11-8 to close out the win. Wednesday offers the Nittany Lions a chance to record a second straight win over a top-25 opponent.

The Wolverines (11-5, 2-3 Big Ten) fell out of the weekly poll, released Monday, after splitting their two games last week, falling to then-No. 9 Ohio State, 84-77, before bouncing back at Purdue, 87-60. Michigan also has endured losses recently to No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 USC.

Michigan State, which opened the season unranked, remains the lone team unbeaten in Big Ten play. Its next game is against Rutgers (10-8, 3-4) on Saturday (1:30 p.m., CBS) at Madi
