OU softball coach Patty Gasso and the third-ranked Sooners will go for their second doubleheader sweep in as many days Friday night when they visit Cal State Fullerton.

The Campbell transfer pitcher got the start for Patty Gasso’s No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, and she dominated Cal Baptist. Smith retired all 10 batters she faced in a relief appearance against Cal State Northridge on Thursday, and carried that streak through all five innings on Friday.

It took a bit for OU softball’s offense to get going, but they finally did, as the Sooners started the season off with a 7-2 win over Cal State Northridge on Thursday in San Diego.

Coach Patty Gasso and the third-ranked OU softball team will continue their season-opening tour of California on Friday with a doubleheader in Fullerton, starting with a 3 p.m. CST game against Cal Baptist.
