The North Carolina House of Representatives voted Tuesday to override the veto of a bill that would increase funding for the private-school voucher program by $463.5 million. The Republican-controlled House voted 72-44 to override Democratic Gov.

Republican state lawmakers currently hold a supermajority in both the North Carolina Senate and House, allowing the caucus alone to override any veto from the governor.

The North Carolina House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon overrode Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of House Bill 10 — a bill that would boost funding for the state’s private school voucher program by more than $2 billion over the next decade.
