Paul Finebaum Names College Football Coach Who 'Would Win a National Championship' at Florida
Paul Finebaum says Lane Kiffin “would win a national championship” at Florida. Kiffin’s contract with Ole Miss runs through 2030 with a $36.6 million buyout. The Florida Gators made headlines this past weekend by firing head coach Billy Napier. He ended his four-year tenure with a record of 22-23 and 3-4 this season.
Penn State has some company in a miserable category this week, as the Nittany Lions are no longer the only former top-10 team ranked in the Bottom 25. Florida State is in the same boat after a 20-13 loss at Stanford marked its fourth straight defeat.
Napier went 22-23 in four seasons with the Gators, 12-16 in SEC play. Florida currently stands at 3-4 and 2-2 in the SEC. The coach is owed a roughly $21 million buyout, per ESPN, and is the second midseason SEC firing after Arkansas’ Sam Pittman was let go Sept. 28.
