The blaze broke out a day after the third anniversary of the deadly Twin Parks fire in the Bronx, which claimed the lives of 17 people in a high-rise building after a faulty space heater and malfunctioning doors contributed to the fire’s spread.

At least seven people were injured when a fifth-alarm fire sparked in a Bronx apartment building on Friday, according to the FDNY. It broke out on Wallace Avenue in Allerton around 1:40 a.m., fire officials said.

A five-alarm fire is burning in the Bronx, and officials say four people have been hospitalized. Firefighters are on the scene along Wallace Avenue in the Allerton section, working to get the intense flames and smoke under control.
