As ILA union strike at ports enters third day, cargo containers are stranded at the wrong terminals or at sea, and ocean carrier charges are starting to mount.

The ongoing strike at East Coast and Gulf Coast ports is the biggest one of its kind in almost 50 years. Yahoo says the stoppage has blocked the unloading of container ships from Maine down to Texas, with a backlog of ships lined up outside of major U.S. ports.
