The row over what to do about the Pakistani rape gangs scandal continues to rumble on, with the governing Labour party yesterday facing criticism for blocking a national inquiry into the issue.

The UK’s Conservative Party tried and failed to force PM Keir Starmer into holding a national inquiry into a scandal surrounding so-called child grooming gangs.

At Prime Minister's Questions Sir Keir said a further inquiry could delay action on tackling child sexual abuse,
