Despite Joao Felix's impressive two-goal display in Chelsea 's FA Cup rout of Morecambe, manager Enzo Maresca has indicated starts will remain scarce for the Portuguese forward.

But it is Chelsea’s lack of control during matches that is providing a test for him now. The 2-0 defeat at Ipswich Town means Chelsea have lost successive games for the first time under Maresca. They have failed to score in successive away games too and ended 2024 picking up just one point from their final three league matches.

Enzo Maresca has denied reports that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will leave Chelsea in January, with West Ham interested in signing him. Dewsbury-Hall played a starring role for Maresca’s Leicester City side last season as they won the Championship title and followed his manager to Stamford Bridge over the summer.
