Numerous automakers offer rugged trims on their crossovers and SUVs, and Volvo is adding its version to its smallest electric SUV.

Volvo is dusting off its Cross Country badge to add some overlanding appeal to its little EX30. These new spy shots show a gnarlier-looking version of the junior electric SUV testing in the snow ahead of a launch in the first half of this year.

Volvo, too, has a long history of building ruggedized long roofs with its Cross Country models, and it appears to be doing the same thing with its new EV, the EX30 SUV. Driving long distances through Sweden in an electric car is also rather easy.
