Six wildfires continue to burn around Los Angeles county as of Friday afternoon local time, with authorities trying to contain the blazes.

More than 35,000 acres have burned so far, and at least 10 deaths have been reported, in one of the most costly fire disasters in California history.

LOS ANGELES − As multiple wildfires continue to burn through Southern California, evacuation orders remain in place throughout the region through at least Thursday. Authorities continue to investigating the causes of three wildfires that began burning in Southern California on Tuesday and two fires that sparked north of Los Angeles and in Hollywood on Wednesday.

State authorities previously listed the Palisades as one of the five Southern California areas with the highest concentration of potential wildfire risks. The community also is among the areas most impacted by an unavailability of insurance coverage.
