A meeting between the two leaders in ethnically divided Cyprus has ended without an agreement. Both sides failed to reach a decision Monday on a deal aimed at building trust that included opening new crossing points across a U.

Leaders of war-divided Cyprus said on Monday they supported opening further crossing points along the 1974 ceasefire line splitting the island to meet popular demand, and would work with the United Nations towards that objective.

Rival Cypriot leaders met Monday to discuss opening more crossing points across the divided island, the United Nations said, as part of trust-building efforts to revive stalled peace talks.
