It was recently announced that The Beekeeper is getting a sequel, and the Jason Statham film will now be directed by Timo Tjahjanto.

Timo Tjahjanto, who is behind upcoming action movie ‘Nobody 2,’ is taking over directing duties from David Ayer.

EXCLUSIVE: Miramax is reteaming with Jason Statham for The Beekeeper 2, a sequel to the 2024 $162.6M global hit. Nobody 2 director Timo Tjahjanto is set to helm off a Kurt Wimmer screenplay. Cameras will roll this fall.

Interestingly, the sequel is facing some shake-ups behind the scenes: David Ayer, who directed the first movie, is apparently busy with his next project, Brad Pitt’s The Heart Of The Beast, and so won’t be coming back to help Statham aim his bees at the evildoers of the world.
