President Donald Trump told NBC he struck a deal with NATO on Thursday for the US to send weapons to Ukraine through the alliance, and that NATO will pay for those weapons “a hundred percent.”

The United States is selling weapons to its NATO allies in Europe so they can provide them to Ukraine as it struggles to fend off a recent escalation in Russia's drone and missile attacks, President Donald Trump and his chief diplomat said.

The arrangement allows Ukraine to get weapons it needs in its war with Russia while providing a way for Europe to increase its defense spending as promised.

Trump confirmed his support for Russian sanctions and shared the new arms arrangement between the U.S., NATO and Ukraine while hinting at an update soon.
