Dr. Marie Feagins, former superintendent of Memphis-Shelby County Schools, said she sued the entire MSCS Board of Education in response to her firing, according to a lawsuit shared with media Monday.

Former Memphis-Shelby County Schools Superintendent Marie Feagins is seeking to void the school board’s January vote to oust her. Feagins claims in a complaint provided by her attorney Monday that the school board violated the Tennessee Open Meetings Act while terminating her contract.

All nine MSCS school board members are listed in the lawsuit and accused of violating the Open Meetings Act, which gives the public rights to attend and observe public meetings.
