Governor Gavin Newsom is cracking down on unhealthy foods in California, specifically, ultra-processed foods and synthetic dyes. He issued an executive order Friday that involves investigating how those foods put public health at risk.

Ultra-processed foods have been known to post a health risk to people because they contain more chemicals, additives, trans fats and emulsifiers.
