Mexico is suing Google over how it’s labeling the Gulf of Mexico
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Friday that her government is suing Google for relabeling the Gulf of Mexico as “Gulf of America” for US users, CBS News reports. The company had done so in Google Maps after President Trump ordered the name change at the beginning of his Presidential term.

President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico on Friday morning said her government had sued Google over the company’s decision to label the Gulf of Mexico as “Gulf of America” — a spat going back to February, when the Trump administration issued an executive order to rename the gulf.
Trump signed the executive order changing the name of the body of water on his first day in office in January.
