The bill sponsored by Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., that requires immigration authorities to detain undocumented migrants that commit theft-related and other crimes is landing on President Trump’s desk after the House approved the Senate version of the legislation Wednesday.

The legislation will require federal agents to detain illegal immigrants arrested for theft and other related crimes until they are deported.

The House has passed a bill to require the detainment of unauthorized migrants accused of theft and violent crimes.
