The San Antonio Spurs, who played without No. 2 overall draft pick Dylan Harper, drubbed the Sixers, 111-70, in what was expected to be a showcase matchup Thursday night at Thomas & Mack Center.

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to keep a young piece in tow on a 3-year deal in an effort to continue adding a strong supporting cast around Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey. Justin Edwards, an undrafted guard out of Kentucky, did a lot of great things in the 2024-25 season earning him a new deal.

The Sixers started with Judah Mintz, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Justin Edwards, Dominick Barlow and Adem Bona. Edwards hit an early catch-and-shoot three-pointer. Other than that, the Spurs had complete control in the first quarter.

Edwards was the nation's No. 2 recruit for Imhotep when his team faced New York's Long Island Lutheran in 2022. Edgecombe, then a junior, had 24 points in the 65-55 win.

The summer version of the Philadelphia 76ers have themselves a long night in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Vegas.

Sixers rookie guard VJ Edgecombe has been diagnosed with a left thumb sprain and will miss Thursday night's Summer League game.
