The sports world will focus on New Orleans for the Super Bowl on February 9. But this town, supremely experienced in throwing a party, has more in store than football.

The first event is the Super Bowl Opening Night event on Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. and the second is the Super Bowl Experience starting Feb. 5 through Feb. 8.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Super Bowl LIX is taking over New Orleans, and the city is rolling out the red carpet with a week of events. From star-studded parties and concerts to immersive fan experiences, here’s everything you need to know about the biggest events happening before the big game.

Events will be scattered throughout downtown the week before the game, likely creating heavy traffic for locals. Among the largest is the NFL's Super Bowl Experience at the Convention Center from Wednesday through Saturday and the NFL Honors awards night on Thursday at the Saenger Theater.

In a little over a week, Super bowl 59 will be taking place in New Orleans, and the week leading up to it holds many opportunities for fans to get involved. Super Bowl Week kicks off on Monday, February 3rd with Opening Night at the Caesars Superdome.

It’s not just the city of New Orleans preparing for the big weekend. The NFL, its sponsors, the Superdome, and out-of-town food and restaurant brands are all vying to put on the best parties and events around Super Bowl LIX.
