Recommend FOSS alternatives to Google Photos or a Gallery app in general. Simple gallery. Dive into settings you will be amazed. if you have less than 1000 photos in less than 50 folders/albums. or if you are a power user with many photos and folders/albums (i have 20 000 photos in 800 folders on external sd card on my android-4.2 device).

I've tried Librephotos, photoprism, photoview, photofield, (and some more). Every single one *except* for LibrePhotos was in Unraid's Community Apps page. For those, all I had to do was search the app's name in the Community Apps page, select my photo directory, and push an install button. Then I had a single docker container for that photo app.

jeet74. •. Yes Aves is currently the best gallery app no doubt but I've tried making it look like simple gallery by removing the navigation bar, keeping albums as default and disabling the colours. But the top navigation bar/heading still bugs me, white border on albums plus lack of an editor and no zoom level setting.

Mar 9, 2023 — Best gallery app. I've been using Samsung's and it's really good, but would prefer an open source alternative that would be as powerful. For FOSS apps, probably Aves Libre or Simple Gallery. Do note that the image editor of the FOSS version of Simple Gallery is very basic. The Play Store version uses a much better but proprietary editor.

Jun 7, 2022 — I haven't found anything nearly as good as Snapseed, so I just use that with internet blocked. Basic cropping can be done with Simple Gallery Pro, which is FOSS and in FDroid. Simple Gallery has a simple photo editor for rotating, cropping and a tiny bit of color editing. My personal solution (which is NOT FOSS!!!):
