Jun 29, 2022 · An online doctorate isn't worth the paper it's printed on. It's not masters degree 2.0. The fact that the US calls them both graduate school is really misleading. A masters is way more like undergrad than a PhD is like a masters. Liberty in particular is better than Walden, but they're both degree mills.

I work at a huge CC and some professors have phds from online programs (you need a masters to be hired as a prof here - i was hired before my doctorate) and even more deans/directors have their doctorates (edd and phd) from online programs.

Sep 1, 2015 · Online Doctorate Degrees - thoughts? I know if I wanted to teach an online doctorate degree wouldn't suffice. I'm inky wanted to further myself in my career. Arizona State and UNC both are prestigious schools, nationally known and accredited, and offer online doctorate degrees. What are your thoughts on these type of degrees from big name schools?

I think you are the in the type situation where an online doctorate is very appropriate. I would still avoid Phoenix, Argosy, or Walden type schools and look to traditional universities that offer an online degree.
