Alvarez 5054, should I buy it? - Acoustic Guitars - Harmony Central
Nov 19, 2010 · Acoustic Guitars. Local shop has a 1979 Alvarez 5054 12-string on the shelf for $100. Only problem is, there's some mis-shape to the body on the top, some of it is a wee-bit concave, some of it is convex, it is not extreme mind you, but when you eye-ball it from a flat vantage point you can see it.

Posted August 13, 2006. I definitely love Alvarez guitars. Currently, I have an FD60 acoustic/electric and a vintage #5054 12 string (an Ebay deal for $217). They use good wood, usually solid tops, quality tuners. They stay in tune, and worth upgrading they saddle, etc.

Jan 18, 2007 · It's a jumbo modeled after the Gibson J-200. Original owner is selling it so you know it's been sitting in a case for years. Wants $500. Anybody know anything about this guitar? I'm not up on the 5052 but I have an Alvarez (Yairi) 5065 I bought new in the mid-1970s and it was marketed as their Martin D28. Made in Japan.

Dec 19, 2006 · That combined with needing new tires desparately, I'm parting with my Alvarez PF90SC acoustic. It's from their professional series and after playing and hearing it, you'll know why. I paid $750 for it and another $50 for the case. Aside from one slight chip in the finish, it's in exellent shape. Action is really low.
