Apr 24, 2021 · Out of the 8 workbooks that are saved on my drive and edited by the desktop Excel, 6 of them are out-of-sync (desktop edits not updating to web). I tried opening an affected workbook through the web, and then clicking "Open in Desktop App". This does not solve the issue. Once you open both the workbook in Excel desktop application, you can use Data tab to connect to external data. In the source workbook, click on the Data tab, then Get Data > From File > select From Workbook.
