The ancient Chinese art of shadow puppetry is a tradition with a history that dates back around 2,000 years. In 2011, the Chinese shadow puppetry was added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Generally, it is a combination of various art forms involving painting, carving, music, opera performance and story-telling.
