On Saturday morning, FDNY Marine 6 responded to a water rescue in the East River near the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. Using drones , FDNY Robotics quickly located the individual in the water and deployed two yellow buoys to mark the area, allowing Marine 6 to navigate directly to the victim. “The FDNY Robotics team did an outstanding job,” said Battalion Chief Michael Dowling. “By dropping those buoys near the victim, they gave us a clear visual marker that helped Marine 6 reach the individual mu

From May to October, the FDNY puts more of its marine units out on patrol to keep you safe. This long holiday weekend, it’s back to the beach for millions of New Yorkers.
