Through dovetails on my Porter Cable 4216. Read the instructions for your jig but typically tails get cut first. Follow the template…straight in straight out. Pins and sockets are cut to fit the tails. Watch the video. I start with a climb cut, right to left, to minimize chip out. If the joint is too loose or too tight adjust the position of the template.
