The biggest challenge in being a skin on frame designer is learning how to balance the tension of all the framing members in the boat so you don’t end up with too much rocker or even worse a hogged keel. The same is true for the curves as viewed from above and the shapes of the ribs. . Left to its own devices wood will try to bring back into fair curbs which is why most skin on frame boats build over molds fail. (unless you you’d like a tippy boat with a hogged keel). . With the glue on the scarf joints dry, I brought the inner and outer keel assembly outside to do some sanding, and also I used a 45° chamfer bit on a trim router, to create the 1/2” wide flat spot where the brass half oval is going to sit on the bottom of the keel.
