I had to chase this speedy little visitor, but it was worth it! This clearwing moth was moving so fast I couldn’t quite pin down the species (Hemaris species), but one thing’s for sure, it was loving the native phlox blooms. Clearwing moths are often mistaken for hummingbirds or bumblebees with their fast wings and hovering flight. Whether it’s the Snowberry Clearwing or Hummingbird Clearwing, both play an important role as native pollinators. | Rewild Alabama : Native Plant Conservation
